As far as security, before you have the walls up in a new home, it makes sense to run twisted pair cable to an alarm contact at every window and door that is accessible from ground level and Cat 5 cable to areas where you may want to install keypads (inside the entry doors and maybe the master bedroom).  You should also run wires for sirens, video cameras, speakers, other home theater requirements. For existing homes with finished walls, the same wiring can be installed, although labor costs will be higher. A wireless system or a combination of both may be your answer.  Call Cimcom Services to get your free estimate.
